In this film two cops go undercover and pretend to be a Gay couple in West Hollywood - one of them: Kerwin doesn't have to really pretend as his IS GAY! The two officers move into an apartment together and set- up house keeping to try and solve a series of gay murders. Benson has to wear hot gay outfits and even has to pose nude for a gay magazine in order to draw attention to themselves. Along the way Benson starts to like being taken care of by Kerwin (although he pretends not to). The film is just made for comedy but there is an undertone that gays and straight men can really get along better than they think ! Oh John Hurt is super as the gay cop who wants nothing other than to take care of Benson (well - maybe he does want one other thing ;-)

Party Girl
Director: Daisy von Scherler Mayer
USA: 1995: 95 Minutes :
With: Anthony DeSando as Derrick and Parker Posey as Mary:

This became both a film and a TV series. It is about a girl who is trying to find herself all the wrong places and her constant companion is Derrick (Anthony DeSando). Unfortunately the part is a very type cast part with it being played as a gay clichés. The movie is a little better than the TV series since you know the time when the film gets out but with the TV series you don't know how long it will go on. If you like swishy gay men by all mean see the film and series.. but in the 1990's I would except a more rounded gay character. Oh did I say that they are both addicted to the party scene.

But one night he sees the phantom of his dreams, and he awakens in the obsession of love. Entranced, he spies the man, goes through his rubbish, breaks into his house. This is the sad story of a young lawyer who is discriminated by a large company (who thought it was all right to discriminate against people with Aids). The relationship between the lawyer and his lover is a good one and the relationship between the lawyer and his lawyer shows that no matter what the other person think of you - it can be changed over time.

Picture of Dorian Gray, The

Director: Albert Lewin
USA: 1945: 110 Minutes : in Black and White and contains Color sequences.
With: George Sanders as Lord Henry Wotton, Hurd Hatfield as Dorian Gray, Donna Reed as Gladys Hallward, Angela Lansbury as Sibyl Vane and Peter Lawford as David Stone.

This is the story by Oscar Wilde about a good-looking young man who wants to retain his youthful beauty ( and who doesn't ?). His wish comes true as an admirer of the youth paints his picture so well that the portrait takes over the aging process.
The portrait is hidden away and it becomes older and uglier with each sin and nasty act by Dorian but Dorian stays young and handsome and nasty !!! There are a lot of homosexual undertones in this film so watch and listen carefully! The sequences where Dorian looks at the portrait are unique as they are in color within this black 6 white film.
Note: one line is said by Lord Henry Wotton which was very wise for 1945 :-) :
It's an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world.

2 homophobic cops stumble, by mistake, into a gay leather dungeon and are given a warm and friendly welcome! This episode makes fun of the stupid cops, not the leather-men, and is worth a look. The rest of the Police academy films, though, are pretty standard stuff.

John Waters is at it again with this film staring Divine. To see the film you need an Odorized card which takes you through the smells of the film- and I can assure a few of them you do not want to smell. When the number appears on the you have to scratch the number on the card. I won't tell you which smell are the bad ones you will have to try it for yourself (if you can find the cards). Oh,  Divine plays Francine Fishpaw, a weary housewife who is looking for love ! and even try Tab Hunter out ! you won't believe Divine´s movie family. A must for Divine fans !

girls she shared love with. I am not a fan of Asian violent films but still the romantic story line makes its worth sitting through the other stuff....

USA, 2006: 98 mins:
With: Josh Lucas, Kurt Russell, Richard Dreyfuss, Emmy Rossum, Kevin Dillon, Jacinda Barrett, Mia Maestro, Mike Vogel, Freddy Rodriguez :

This is a remake of the 1972 film which most of us have seen by now. I guess it had to be remade as the special effects have changed so much since the original.  The one really new item is that there is a gay in the film (played by Richard Dreyfuss). He has just experienced an end to his gay relationship and has decided to kill himself by jumping ship but as luck will have it other things happen to stop that plan. Anyway this 98 minute film is worth a see if only to see the gay or to compare it to the original.

Possible Loves
(Original title : AMORES POSSÍVEIS )

Director & Producer by Sandra Werneck
Brasil: 2001: 100 Minutes :
With: Murilo Benício (Carlos), Carolina Ferraz (Julia), Emílio de Melo (Pedro), Beth Goulart, Irene Ravache and Drica Moraes:

15 years ago,  Carlos waits for his first date with Julia in a cinema lobby in Rio de Janeiro but she never shows up. This is a rather small event and a tiny disturbance in the fabric of fate and a common place event, barely noticed—but one from which alternate realities can spring.
Fifteen years later we find Carlos living three lives. In the first, he is a wealthy lawyer with a comfortable but passionless marriage, childless.
In the second, he is divorced from Julia, coming out the closet and starting  to live with Pedro.
In the third it is a man who still did not discover the love and that he searchs, in successive and disastrous loving experiences, the ideal woman. But one of these lives is real, being that another one is fictitious and third it is the one that it would really like to live. But to discover which of these three possibilities is the real life of Carlos, is necessary to come back in the time and to know what the wait for Julia in the cinema hall really happened with it after. It´s a funny and sexy film with a philosophical exploration of love
This film won the Latin Prize in the "SUNDANCE FESTIVAL" in the USA.

This is the story of a star who is no longer at the top - played by Shirley MacLaine. She is also a mother and with a daughter played by Meryl Streep
There are three reasons to see this film The first is that you will hear Shirley say to Meryl  "You know how much the queens love me." The second is there is a cameo appearance by a gay actor Simon Callow (he was in "Four Weddings and a Funeral) and the third is that this film is a good one ! I really enjoyed it.

Precious moments
 (orig. title Fremragende timer)

Director: Lars Krutzkoff Jacobsen
Norway: 2002: 16 Minutes :

In Norway, the age of consent is 16. If you have sex with an under-age boy or girl, you have to pay a fine and usually get a suspended jail-sentence. This shortie is based on a true case where a 40 year old man had sex with a 15 year old boy in a hotel room, thus breaking Norwegian law. I'm not sure what point is being made here. The film is very matter-of-fact, with a voice-over explaining what happened to the two guys afterwards.

Director Jacobsen is notorious for making two very trashy gay features:

Has Played on  "P.L.A.N.E.T G.A.Y", but I've had no luck trying to find them on VHS.

(USA Title: Come Undone)
Director: Sebastien Lifshitz
France: 2000: 100 Minutes : Gay romance
With: Jérémie Elkaïm, Stéphane Rideau, Dominique Reymond, and Marie Matheron:

1st reviews of the film:

This is the story of Cedric and Matthieu, two 18 year-old French boys who meet and fall in love in a seaside town. They are beautiful and gorgeous. They play, make love on the beach, (we're talking quite graphic sex here!) they hide from the world, they quarrel, kiss and make up. Matthieu comes out to his family...

I just loved it!

The only problem: The director plays too much with the chronology. The story jumps forwards and backwards, there are too many flashbacks and you end up very confused! And the ending is a bit lame. I wandered out of the cinema slightly disappointed. This could have been a classic, yet it's only halfway there! No matter. It's still a very good love story from a promising, young director. Definitely worth your time and money

Alternative review:
Mathiew and Cedric are two french teens who meet each other in their vacations at the beach.
Mathieu is a rich boy with a lot family´s problems, on the other hand Cedric have to work to get money .
Their loves get stronger and stronger and their families know about their relationship and don´t worry about it,
so they start to make plans to live together, but the Cedric´s behavior spoils everything...

It´s a beautiful and strange film with some hot scenes in the dunes
