even has to pose nude for a gay magazine in order to draw attention to
themselves. Along the way Benson starts to like being taken care of by

initiated Michael into the New York club scene, but it was Michael who

Girl
- Director:
Daisy von Scherler Mayer
- USA:
1995: 95 Minutes :
- With:
Anthony DeSando as Derrick and Parker Posey as Mary:
-
- This
became both a film and a TV series. It is about a girl who is trying to
find
herself all the wrong places and her constant companion is Derrick
(Anthony
DeSando). Unfortunately the part is a very type cast part with it being
played
as a gay clichés. The movie is a little better than the TV
series since you
know the time when the film gets out but with the TV series you don't
know how
long it will go on. If you like swishy gay men by all mean see the film
and
series.. but in the 1990's I would except a more rounded gay character.
Oh did
I say that they are both addicted to the party scene.

ambiguous desire.
But one night he sees the phantom of his dreams, and he awakens in the
obsession of love. Entranced, he spies the man, goes through his
rubbish, breaks

world’s unwanted
leftovers. He is alone. He is no longer of this world.

what the
other person think of you - it can be changed over time.

- With:
George Sanders as Lord Henry Wotton, Hurd Hatfield as Dorian Gray,
Donna Reed
as Gladys Hallward, Angela Lansbury as Sibyl Vane and Peter Lawford as
David
Stone.
-
- This
is the story by Oscar Wilde about a good-looking young man who wants to
retain
his youthful beauty ( and who doesn't ?). His wish comes true as an
admirer of
the youth paints his picture so well that the portrait takes over the
aging
process.
- The
portrait is hidden away and it becomes older and uglier with each sin
and nasty
act by Dorian but Dorian stays young and handsome and nasty !!! There
are a lot
of homosexual undertones in this film so watch and listen carefully!
The
sequences where Dorian looks at the portrait are unique as they are in
color
within this black 6 white film.
- Note:
one line is said by Lord Henry Wotton which was very wise for 1945 :-) :
- It's
an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San
Francisco.
It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the
next
world.

it had

that there is a gay in the film (played by Richard Dreyfuss). He has

- Brasil:
2001: 100 Minutes :
- With:
Murilo Benício (Carlos), Carolina Ferraz (Julia),
Emílio de Melo (Pedro), Beth
Goulart, Irene Ravache and Drica Moraes:
-
- 15
years ago, Carlos
waits for his first
date with Julia in a cinema lobby in Rio de Janeiro but she never shows
up.
This is a rather small event and a tiny disturbance in the fabric of
fate and a
common place event, barely noticed—but one from which
alternate realities can
spring.
- Fifteen
years later we find Carlos living three lives. In the first, he is a
wealthy
lawyer with a comfortable but passionless marriage, childless.
- In
the second, he is divorced from Julia, coming out the closet and
starting to live
with Pedro.
- In
the third it is a man who still did not discover the love and that he
searchs,
in successive and disastrous loving experiences, the ideal woman. But
one of
these lives is real, being that another one is fictitious and third it
is the
one that it would really like to live. But to discover which of these
three
possibilities is the real life of Carlos, is necessary to come back in
the time
and to know what the wait for Julia in the cinema hall really happened
with it
after. It´s a funny and sexy film with a philosophical
exploration of love

This

reviews of the film:
-
- This
is the story of Cedric and Matthieu, two 18 year-old French boys who
meet and
fall in love in a seaside town. They are beautiful and gorgeous. They
play,
make love on the beach, (we're talking quite graphic sex here!) they
hide from
the world, they quarrel, kiss and make up. Matthieu comes out to his
family...
-
- I
just loved it!
-
- The
only problem: The director plays too much with the chronology. The
story jumps
forwards and backwards, there are too many flashbacks and you end up
very
confused! And the ending is a bit lame. I wandered out of the cinema
slightly
disappointed. This could have been a classic, yet it's only halfway
there! No
matter. It's still a very good love story from a promising, young
director.
Definitely worth your time and money
