- The
old story of a man who is a hired killed and given a contract by Russia
to kill
a very high up government official. Along the way he pretends to be
gay, picks
up a gay man and then kills him. Didn't we have all these type stories
in the
1950´s to the 1960´s where all the gays and lesbian
had to be killed or
punished ? Oh well, it is a good thriller and so worth a look!

- USA
: 1950 : 85 Mins : filmed in B/W : Comedy with a gay character
- With:
Alan Mowbray as Leslie and Natalie Wood as Phyllis Lawrence:
-
- Just
a regular comedy until Leslie (played by Alan Mowbray) is on the screen
as yet
another effeminate Interior decorator. He is there for laughs but did
not help
our screen image.
- Note
: a very early Natalie Wood film where she plays Phyllis Lawrence

is the sotry of a woman who gets raped by two Lesbians and her struggle
to
bring them to justice. Since therewere no
real laws about this type of rape she and her

time getting it brought to justice and this film traces this story.
Quite
intressing to see how they work it out.

- Jay
and silent Bob strike back
-
- USA
2001
- Directed
by Kevin Smith
- Starring
Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith
-
- Hopeless
losers Jay and silent Bob make their fourth appearance and here they
play
- the
leads. This time they go to Hollywood to stop their cartoon characters
being
turned into action-comedy figures in a blockbuster movie.
-
- If
you can stomach A LOT of childish behavior and sex-fixated jokes, this
is your
movie.
- It's
quite funny. Director Kevin Smith was heavily criticized by gay rights
organizations
- because
Jay crack gay jokes all the time ("Oh no, that's sooo gay") and he
calls everyone he doesn't like "fagots".
- Actually,
it's not a homophobic movie. At one point, the two friends even claim
they're
gay and married with an adopted kid to get out of a police-jam! George
Carlin
has a great line about truckers and it's all in good fun.
- Smith
was quite shocked when faced with the criticism and told the press
that: "
- As
I have a gay brother and several gay friends it's not likely I am
homophobic"! Jay and Bob say these things because they're morons and
idiots.." .
-
- Note:
Smith put a disclaimer in the end credits where he stated it was
unacceptable
to
- badmouth
gays in real life. Trouble is, nobody reads end credits do they? :o)

- Jeffery
-
- [AKA:
Jeffery - It´s Just Sex]
- Director:
Christopher Ashley
- USA
: 1995 : 92 Mins. Drama / Comedy gay Aids
- With:
Steven Weber as Jeffrey, Michael T. Weiss as Steve, Patrick Stewart as
Sterling
and Bryan Batt as Darius:
-
- Jeffrey
is a young gay man who lives in New York City. He is terrified of sex
as he has
to always think about AIDS and that makes sex not much fun anymore. He
decides
to become celibate and wouldn't you know it he meets the man of his
dreams at
the gym. The big problem is the man of his dreams has AIDS. The thought
of
catching AIDS and of losing this new man in his life to AIDS is just
too much
for him and he flips out. He tried to avoid all contact with him and
almost
loses the man of his dreams. The other characters are also great in
this film.
The is Patrick Stewart (from Star Trek fame) who plays a wonder friend
to
Jeffrey and a good lover to his effeminate friend, who is a dancer with
AIDS.
This film is a must see and part of the new wave of great gay films.

- [AKA
: I Love You, I Don't ]
- Director:
Serge Gainsbourg
- France
: 1975 Drama gay characters with sex scenes
- With:
Jane Birkin as Johnny, Michel Blanc, Joe Dallesandro as Krasky, Jimmy
Davis as
Moise, Gérard Depardieu as Rene la Canne, Reinhard
Kolldehoff as Boris and
Hugues Quester as Padovan:
-
- Well
I knew I would eventually come to this title and have to write the
story line
so here goes : Krassky and Padovan are gay lovers and truck drivers.
One day
Krassky comes into a dinner and see (use your imagination - please) a
guy (who
is really a slim girl). He suddenly gets hot for Him / Her and makes a
date.
She likes him but soon discovers the only way to get him is to dress
and act
like a boy. When she wears a dress - he doesn't like her ( I wonder why
!) He
of course wants only anal sex - which she finds hard and each time
screams (no
comment), meanwhile Padovan is getting very jealous and upset. So see
the film
to see what happens.
- Note:
If you like Joe Dallesandro - watch this film as he looks sexy and a
slimmer
Gérard Depardieu is also in this interesting film.

- With:
Joes Pesci as David Ferrie, Kevin Bacon as Willie O´Keefe and
Tommy Lee Jones

-
- This
film suggests that three gay men were in some degree involved with the
assassination of JFK. In this one three gays get part of the blame. The
three
gays are: Male hustler - Willie O´Keefe, a small time
criminal - David Ferrie
and a Businessman - Clay Shaw. An interesting theory to watch.

- With
: Richard Edson as Joey Breaker, Cedella Marley as Cyann Worthington,
Fred
Fondren as Alfred Moore, Erik King as Hip Hop Hank, Gina Gershon as
Jennie
Chaser, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Wiley McCall, Mary Joy as Esther
Trigliani,
Sam Coppola as Sid K ramer, Michael Imperioli as Larry Metz, Olga
Bagnasco as
Karina Danzi and Laurence Mason as Lester White:
-
- This
is a heterosexual story of Joey Breaker, who is an agent, and is very
callous
and intolerant Joey meets a wonderful woman who brings great changes to
his
life. When his girlfriend wants to visit a man with AIDS, Joey goes
along but
is afraid he will get AIDS. Eventually he comes around and forms a
friendship
with the man. Then there is an open gay man called Hip Hop Hank who is
a
comedian. Joey wants to sign him up and when they first meet Hop Hank
brings
along his male lover. Joey wants Hip Hop Hank to hide the fact that he
is gay
so as to make the promotion of his career easier but Hop Hank will not
hide in
the closet. This is a black film and has two really good gay characters
who are
out and open and they influence Joey (the Heterosexual's life) which is
good
right ?

gay sex
if it is for a profit. They both seem to need each other and when times

- England
1977
- Director:
Derek Jarman
-
- Those
who like the gay director Derek Jarman's later films should try this
out, an
irreverent look at the punk ethic in the late 70ies, in the form of a
moral
play about good and evil.
-
- The
plot: Queen Elisabeth 1. is brought into
modern England by magic, and meets all sorts of characters, including
punks,
deviants and gays living in a sort of commune where they plot the
downfall of
society..An unpleasant film, with lots of ugliness and murder, but some
great
satirical points as well.

Lane Janger .
- With:
Lane Janger as Anthony, Joelle Carter as Amy, Guillermo Diaz as Victor

-
- This
film started out as a short and then later made as full length film. It
is the
story of Anthony (macho firefighter) and Amy who are about to be
married but
Anthony has a wish that he wants Amy to do for him and that is sleep
with
another woman and him. Amy does not want to but says she will if
Anthony will
do the same and sleep with another guy and her. They both agree and
Anthony is
supposed to sleep with Victor a cute gay neighbor who has read about
gay sex
but never done it and really want to do it with Anthony as he has a
crush on
him. Meanwhile Amy is checking out the lesbian neighbor Michelle. Will
they go

- Oh

- (AKA
: Anything for Love)
- USA
: 1993 : made for TV: 91 Mins: role reversal transvestitism
- Director:
Michael Keusch
- With:
Corey Haim as Chris/Chrissy Calder, Nicole Eggert as Marie Stark, Cam
Bancroft
as Kurt Stark, Johannah Newmarch as Julie Calder, Kevin McNulty as
Louis
Calder, Wendy Van Riesen as Norma Calder, Gabe Mouth as Dan and Lochlyn
Munro
as Jan:
-
- This
is the typical drag movie but a laugh can be found. It is the story
Chris who
is bullies by a gang. When he finds out he is going to be transferred
to the
same school, he decides to get in drag to avoid the problem. He decides
to try
out the drag on the first day of school and since some of his new
teachers meet
him as a girl, he is force to go through with it. He soon finds out
that there
are advantages to being a girl. Of course there is a girl as in most
drag films
and the girl in this one is Marie who is a cheerleader. So Chris sets
out to
become the very best cheerleader so he can be by Marie. Then the
problems start
when the coach notices that he likes to LOOK a lot !!!
-
- Note:
These type of films were fun for gays when there were not enough really
out gay
films being made but now there are so many good ones I suspect that
this type
of drag picture (where no one is gay) will fade out and real stories
about
transvestites w ill be made in there place. I am gay and want to see
real gay
people up there on the screen don't you ?

- With:
Paul Freeman as Miles Millichamp, Togo Igawa as Akira Watanabe, Gordon
Kennedy
as C.J, Adrian Pasdar as Gerald, Ian Redford as Tom Braxton, Shelley
Thompson
as Eleanor Tilson and Julie Walters as Monica:
-
- This
is the type of film I was talking about and although Gerald is not gay,
he is a
real transvestite, and thus the story becomes interesting to me. He is
a man in
his thirties , has a wife and is a transvestite. He has never told her
and one
day (of course) she finds him dressed as a woman, this is too much for
her and
she throws him out (thinking I think that he is gay !). He finds a room
to rent
and meets Monica who is the landlady (isn't it funny how Landladies
always come
in handy in films ?). She discovers that Gerlad is a transvestite and
slowly
gets used to it and in the end supports him. They are lovers after all
and she
has to accept it to continue. The film is not for laugh and is a
serious try to
show us what this life is really like. This is the type of drag film we
want
not drag for laughs (with the exception of a few really good films who
make us
like the person doing drag).
